Monotype Engravers™ Old English
The rather wide capital only Engravers fonts were imitations of those that had been evolved by copperplate and steel plate engravers of the nineteenth century, and which were so expressive of the medium. The letters show a strong contrast between thick and thin strokes and have sharply cut serifs. First made available by American Type Founders and Lanston Monotype at the beginning of the twentieth century, the Engravers fonts soon became a popular choice for letter heads, advertising and stationery.
